Account deletion request
This page explains how to request deletion for your account with The Catholic Zone and what data is deleted or retained.
App/developer: The Catholic Zone, operated by The Catholic Zone LLC.
- Sign in at /sign-in?redirect=%2Fprofile%2Faccount.
- Open Profile, then Account.
- In Danger zone, select Schedule account deletion and confirm.
A deletion request starts a 30-day recovery window before permanent purge.
You can remove specific data while keeping your account active.
- Events and drafts: delete drafts from Create, and permanently delete hosted events from Profile, then Events. This is applied immediately.
- Comments and replies: remove your own comments from event threads. Removed comments are hidden in-app, but moderation/audit metadata may be retained for safety enforcement.
- Inbox notifications: delete individual notifications, selected notifications, or all notifications from Inbox. This is applied immediately.
- Host profile data: schedule personal or owned-team host-profile reset from the Host or Team Settings danger zone. This uses a 30-day recovery window before permanent purge.
After you schedule deletion, your account enters a 30-day recovery window.
During that window, you can sign in and restore access from /account-recovery.
If you do not restore before the deadline, purge processing permanently applies the account deletion changes.
- Personal host profile and personal hosted events.
- Owned team profile data that is not transferred to another owner.
- Your authored comments, RSVPs, drafts, inbox notifications, and notification preferences.
- Your user profile row and related account-personalization settings.
To preserve safety, fraud prevention, audit integrity, billing history, and legal compliance, certain operational records may be retained in de-identified or disassociated form.
For example, some moderation, trust, and activity records may remain with user references cleared.
The core account row is converted to a deleted/de-identified state (including a placeholder deleted email) and marked as deleted.
If you own a team, ownership may transfer to another eligible team member to avoid service disruption. In that case, transferred team data is retained under the new owner.
